Spotlight Date Watched:  08/29/24 Format:  Watched on TV via DVD Directing  (⭐⭐⭐): Writing  (⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐): Acting  (⭐⭐⭐): Wildcard  (⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐): The story. This one had to be told and a great job was done doing it. Shoulda, Woulda, Coulda : Mad Max was fun but glad it did not win.  The Revenant was a few good performances but that is it.  I would have been fine with The Big Short or The Martian but Spotlight was still a solid pick. Shoulda, Woulda, Coulda : This was a toss-up year for a lot of films, but in a good way.  I think there were a lot of good options.  Silver Linings Playbook and Django Unchained were two of my favorites.  Surprised Lincoln did not win though.
